Welcome! Are you in Boston? Going to Boston? The Hub Theatre is mounting a production of my dark comedy ROBYN IS HAPPY — about three women whose lifelong friendship falls apart when one of them falls in love with an unlikely partner. The play premiered at B Street in Sacramento a couple of years ago and I'm thrilled it's now having its east coast premiere.
AS A PLAYWRIGHT, I've been fortunate enough to have work produced at theatres from Boston Court to Theatre Latte Da to Open Fist to Naked Eye. I've had readings of plays at theatres like Hartford Stage and Manhattan Theatre Club. I've been commissioned by Hartford Stage, was a two-time finalist for the Heideman Award, and a finalist for The O'Neill. A few of my plays are published and can be found at Samuel French, Playscripts -- not to mention Amazon and iTunes.
AS A SCREENWRITER, I've written over a dozen TV pilots and screenplays -- having developed projects with ACME Productions, Tagline Pictures, Mandalay TV and more. In my spare time (of which there's very little), I've contributed essays to HowlRound magazine, volunteered as a mentor for LGBTQ youth at About Face Theatre, and even once directed WILLY WONKA at my son's elementary school. I will never direct again.
AS A TEACHER, I've taught TV writing, screenwriting, and playwriting at Northwestern University, Emerson College, Hampshire College, and Carleton College -- where I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Cinema and Media Studies.
